Great Lakes Communications Supports Women and Families Through the 2026 Walk for Sojourner Truth House

As a women-owned business, supporting causes that uplift women is deeply important to us at Great Lakes Communications. We’re proud to continue our tradition of participating in the Walk for Sojourner Truth House on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

This year, Sojourner Truth House celebrates the 27th anniversary of the Walk for STH, making our participation even more meaningful to us. This annual walk brings the community together to support women and children experiencing homelessness and hunger, while raising critical funds for the programs, resources, and care that help families move toward stability.

The Walk for STH is powered by peer-to-peer fundraising and community support. Every participant, donor, and supporter plays a part in offering hope and help to those affected by homelessness. For us, this walk is more than an event on the calendar—it is a chance to stand with women and families who deserve safety, dignity, and the opportunity to build a better future.

Infographic showing 2024 homelessness statistics, including 771,000 people experiencing homelessness in the U.S., a 39.4% increase in family homelessness, and a 33% increase in children under 18 experiencing homelessness.

These numbers are heartbreaking, but they also remind us why this walk matters—because every dollar raised supports real women, children, and families who deserve safety, dignity, and hope.

Sojourner Truth House provides meals, essentials, support services, classes, activities, and connections to resources that help women and families rebuild their lives. Their work creates a safe, nurturing environment where women can take meaningful steps toward housing stability, personal growth, and long-term success.

And when women are uplifted, the whole community is strengthened. Families become more stable. Children gain a greater sense of security. Communities benefit from neighbors who are supported, encouraged, and equipped to move forward.

Thank you for helping us support some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
